Acid Etched Metal Art and Exotic Lacewood

This clever clock is made from Lacewood and artist created metal art. It is one-of-a kind. .The art and the clock numbers are raised in relief as part of the acid etching technique. The artwork is hand painted and then submerged into an acid bath where the unpainted metal is eaten away leaving the numbers raised above the background. The paint is removed and the metal art is finished with saws, files and buffing for a lustrous finish. The wood is finished with a rich, hand rubbed oil finish. The quartz clockworks are from the Seiko company. One AA battery is required and included.
